If you take a look at your life, you will realize soon that it is made up of many little things and substantially big things. Some of us have really big jobs, or attend big schools, but the one thing we all have in common is the little things. Without question, day in and day out, we are faced with little choices, which I believe shape who we are. The little things I am talking about are the things we are faced with that no one really sees but us. It's making our beds, or choosing to lie or tell the truth, or choosing to read your word or watch tv, or choosing to watch that movie or click on that site. It's the little choices, that don't seem that big of a deal, but have huge impacts on our lives. Here is what Luke 16:10 says, "He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much; and he who is unjust in what is least is unjust also in much." It is such a simple truth... what you do with the little things is eventually how you act with the big things. Just think about it. If you develop a lifestyle of laziness, eventually you will drop the ball in the big things. If you watch things you know you shouldn't watch, eventually you will desire to do them and do big things you shouldn't do. But if you make the hard choice to tell the truth when no one is looking, you won't have to worry about lying when everyone is looking, because it becomes who you are. If you choose to not be lazy in the little things, it makes it a whole lot easier to not be lazy in the big. It all comes down to character. When we begin to make good choices with the little things, it becomes who we are. And when the big things come our way... we can be trusted. Make the hard choices to do what is right in the little things and watch as you begin to excel in the big!
