never forget

I don't know how many times I have forgotten something; forgotten my keys, my computer, my meeting, my Bible, and even what God has done. Have you ever forgotten something? Well if you are even remotely human I am sure you have. But have you ever forgotten what the Lord has done for you? I read this in my devotions today out of Psalm 106:12-15, "Then they believed His words; they sang His praise. They soon forgot His works; they did not wait for His counsel, but lusted exceedingly in the wilderness. And tested God in the desert. And He gave them their request, but sent leanness into their soul." This was talking about the children of Israel. These are the people that got to see God deliver them from the Egyptians by parting the Red Sea. They saw the glory of the Lord lead them by a cloud. They saw God do so many miracles right in front of their own eyes... yet they forgot. It is so easy to look at Israel and realize that they are so dumb for forgetting what they saw and experienced. I mean how could they not see that God was doing amazing things right in front of their face, right? But yet we do this all the time, don't we? We get in a car wreck or out lives get harder than normal and we immediately forget His works in our lives. We want someone to blame and ultimately we want complete control over our lives. See the Lord says that He never leaves us and that He knows every day we are going to live and that He knows the plans He has for us. Plans to prosper us and not to harm us. Plans to give us a hope and a future...(Jeremiah 29:11) God hasn't forgotten about us, so why should we forget about Him? Stop today right where you are and remember what He has done in you. Let the Lord reveal where our hearts should be... Trust Him today and don't forget what He has done... for He is a good God!
