I had my weekly meeting with a close friend of mine who is in ministry with me this morning. We talked about ministry and the things we want to see God do in our community, and even the frustration that comes in serving day in and day out. You know it is so hard to serve daily, especially when you want to see so much happen, yet you feel so much opposition. As young people in ministry, we are full of passion and energy, and we want God to start revival in us and in our church. We want our church to accept some of the "new" and "relevant" ways to do church. When we don't see this happen as quickly as we would like, it is so easy to give up, isn't it? What I am finding out about serving is that it is not just something we do when it is easy, but it is something we have to do always. It is what we are called to do... to serve God with all our hearts... NOT just when it is easy. I was encouraged today by this verse in Matthew 24:45-46 when Jesus says, "Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his master made ruler over his household, to give them food in due season? Blessed is that servant whom his master, when he comes, will find doing so." Jesus is coming back, and I want to be found serving my King. You know life and ministry is going to be hard, especially when you see if people could only see this.... or if they would only worship to these songs....or if they would only stop doing this... But I don't want my King to come back and see me given up. I want to be caught serving and feeding His people...NO MATTER the cost!! I wonder if we would all take this approach to serving... if we would all just serve out of the overflow of our heart... serve knowing our king is coming back. I think we would begin to see God move in huge ways. I think we would begin to see Revival spark in us... our church and in our friends. Serve today, not out of frustration, but out of joy... knowing that our King is coming back to take us home...
Serve Hard or go home!

Good word. Andy Roddick is the man by the way. I saw him play at Wimbeldon and he served it like 120 mph. Wicked fast.
